Here’s the fastest path to hand a clean .fdx file to collaborators while drafting in Fountain.
1) Import your Fountain file
Open the Editor and choose Upload Script.
Select your .fountain file and let Jenesis Forge parse it into clean blocks.
2) Tidy & verify
- Use the episode rail to jump between sections.
- Press Enter to flow Scene → Action → Character → Dialogue.
- Fix any headings or character names as needed.
3) Export to Final Draft (.fdx)
Open Export → choose .fdx. Keep a PDF alongside it for easy review and sharing.
Tip: If a studio asks for page-locked pages, export a PDF with scene numbers after locking your draft.
